Great Russian Nutcracker
Featuring spectacular sets and beautifully costumed Russian dancers,
Moscow Ballet's Great Russian Nutcracker is an annual treat for the whole
family. Whimsical and imaginative storytelling blends with the richness of
Russian classical dance to make the Great Russian Nutcracker a unique
performance not to be missed!
Choreographer Emelianov has been praised by critics for its unique setting of
Act II in the "Land of Peace and Harmony." To convey his message of peace,
Emelianov incorporates an ethereal dove that escorts Masha and the Prince
to a land where there is no war and suffering.
Set against Valentin Fedorov's spectacular scenic design, with
dancing, larger-than-life puppets and the backdrop of unicorns, exotic birds
and animals, Moscow Ballet's Great Russian Nutcracker is a visual delight.

Moscow Ballet
The cast features luminaries of the Perm, Vaganova, Moscow State Academic
Choreographic and Kiev schools. Chief Choreographer Anatoli Emelianov
returns, with Ballet Masters Vladimir Troschenko and Andre Litvinov. Over the
years, Moscow Ballet has increased the size and scope of its tour adding
Cinderella, Swan Lake and Carmen to its schedule.
For 2008, Moscow Ballet has three tours crossing the U.S. and Canada.
The "Prince" tour (led by Emelianov), starts in Washington State in the end of
October, and continues across Canada, visiting 16 cities. In early December,
it crosses back into the U.S.
The "Clara" tour (Troschenko), kicks off in Texas in late November. The "Kissy
Doll" tour (led by Litvinov), begins in late November in Massachusetts. All
three continue through the end of December in the U.S., visiting more than
70 cities. For your city's tour and press info: www.nutcracker.com/press.
